Full Home Back Up or EPS
I want to have full back up of my home please read on. Have you heard that one? Does it work? Here are some facts to set things straight. Unfortunately we hear often on Facebook I was sold a dream of full home back up.
You can with a Tesla Powerwall 3, or with a battery and an ATS switch. This is a little box that we connect in your home to allow for full or partial backup depending on your needs.
An EPS does not do full home back up and it is not automatic. So if you work from home and have the fridge as a friend and need wifi this is for you
We made this guide to help you discover what you really need as a homeowner or business.

Yes. Many modern battery systems can be programmed to charge from the grid during off-peak hours, taking advantage of lower night-time electricity rates. This stored energy can then be used during the day, helping you save even more on your bills.

Batteries let you use more of your own solar energy, reduce your reliance on the grid, and protect you from rising energy prices. Charging your battery at night on a cheaper tariff can further increase your savings.

If you want your whole home to run as normal during a power cut, choose a Tesla Powerwall with full backup. For essential loads only, a standard battery with EPS may be more suitable and cost-effective. Please also see table for ATS switch over. This is a technical solution that most good electricians can install. However if they only do solar the chances are they don’t want to deal with the complexity. We can.
-
You don’t need solar panels to benefit from a home battery system. Even if your roof is too shaded or unsuitable for solar, a battery can still help you save money and increase your energy independence.
-
The battery charges from the grid, typically during off-peak hours when electricity is cheaper (using a time-of-use or night tariff). Ask your energy supplier what tariff is best for you.
You then use the stored energy during the day or at peak times, reducing your reliance on expensive daytime electricity rates.
This process is called “load shifting” and is especially useful for properties where solar isn’t practical.
